SWEET AND SOUR SAUCEIngredients: 1/2 green pepper, coarsely chopped2 Tbsp. cooking oil1/2 c. vinegar6 Tbsp. brown sugar1 Tbsp. soy sauce3/4 c. ketchup1 19 oz. can cubed pineapple1 Tbsp. cornstarch1 Tbsp. chopped preserved gingerSaute green pepper in oil over medium heat until almost tender. Add vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, ketchup and 1 c. juice from pineapple, bring to boil. Combine cornstarch with 2 Tbsp. cold water and stir into hot mixture. Cook and stir until thick and transparent. Add pineapple cubes. Yield: 2 cups. |
