FRENCH ONION SOUPIngredients: 6 medium onions, thinly sliced2 Tbsp. butter or margarine4 c. consomme1/2 tsp. salt1/8 tsp. celery saltDash pepper1 tsp. Worcestershire SauceFrench breadGrated parmesan cheeseLightly brown onions in butter. Add consomme, simmer until tender. Add seasonings. Slice French bread into slices and toast in oven. Sprinkle thickly with Parmesan, brown under broiler. Ladle soup into bowls and place 1 slice of bread on top of each. Serves 4-6. |
