Use this template to prepare a Promissory Note for a loan payable from a family member's estate, for use in Canada. This form of Note would generally be used to secure loans between close family members, such as a loan from a parent or grandparent to a child or grandchild. Only the lender can demand payment. The borrower agrees to repay the entire loan within a specified time following the lender's death or, at the option of the lender's executors, the loan amount may be deducted from the borrower's share of the lender's estate.
